The Student Store
The SOAR Store opened in September 2018. From the very start, it was planned, designed and set up with the assistance and creative input of the students.
Student Workers
The students that work in The SOAR Store are actively involved in every aspect of the day-to-day operation of the store. They participate in the ordering, counting, sorting, pricing, displaying, and sales of all merchandise. During the course of the year, emphasis is placed on the development and maintenance of a positive work ethic. Continuous focus is placed on the establishment of skills necessary for working with supervisors, co-workers, and customers.
Student Record Keeping
When in class, each student is involved in extensive record keeping on an ongoing basis. This includes recording and computing of recording of sales and inventory on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, and, ultimately, the graphing of sales for the year, broken down by days of the week and months. All of the data are analyzed, assessed, and then used in the evaluation and determination of future sales and marketing.
