Reading Intervention Service
The Hallen school provides reading intervention service focused on strengthening skills in decoding, reading comprehension and writing skills. This service is for our struggling readers.
Positive Behavioral Intervention & Supports (PBIS)
PBIS is a framework that focuses on creating a positive school-wide environment by defining and teaching appropriate student behaviors. An emphasis is placed on the types of behavior we want students to display as opposed to focusing on those which we do not wish for them to emulate.
Students are taught to be Safe, Organized, Accountable, and Respectful (SOAR). Through this acronym, staff members teach students the skills that are directly aligned with our behavioral expectations and provide them with the opportunity to practice them.
ClassDojo is a communication app that connects teachers, parents, and students. It is used to share photos, videos, and messages through the school day.
